Where: Indiana Statehouse, Downtown Indianapolis 200 West Washington Street
When: February 17, 2003 1-4 p.m.
The event will begin at 1:00 pm. with a keynote address and refreshments. Every hour on the hour throughout the day guest speakers will address topics such as the importance of civic involvement, current legislative issues, and advocacy. Every half hour, tours of the statehouse will be offered. Earlham College
Dialogue and Dinner: Over dinner students will discuss topics that are important to them. Student panel. Hosted by Service Learning. February18th
Women in Politics: This dialogue will include open discussion about barriers women may encounter in the political arena. Hear from women who currently hold political positions in the surrounding communities. Also hear from those who aspire to hold political positions. February19th.

During the Week of Action, Indiana University Bloomington's Volunteer Students Bureau is teaming up with INPIRG, IUSA and a fraternity to host a series of events that center around homelessness and activism in preparation for Homeward Bound - South Central Indiana: Indiana's 5K Walk to Fight Homelessness, a walk that will take place Sunday, March 30, 2003.
The event schedule is as follows:
Monday 2/17/03: A campus-wide blanket drive to kick-off the week's events and a trip to the statehouse for the Raise Your Voice Campaign.
Wednesday 2/19/03: A Hunger Banquet featuring a speaker to address the problem of homelessness.
Friday 2/21/03: A Sleep-Out that provides students with an opportunity to spend a night outside to discuss and learn about homelessness.
Saturday 2/22/03: End of the Week benefit concert with local musicians and speakers; the admission cost is a canned good or a blanket.

Monday, February 17th
There will be a Unity Week Booth in the Whitewater Hall Lobby with information about the Raise your Voice Campaign and the weeks activities.
Tuesday, February 18th
Faces of America, a one person show addressing the question of multiculturalism in todays society will be presented in Vivian Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. The play presents eight characters all based on true stories and each representing a different cultural aspect of American society.
Wednesday, February 19th
Students, staff and faculty are invited to come hear Shelly Miller, Mayor of Richmond, speak about politics, service and the importance of involvement at 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of Graf Recreation Center in Springwood Hall. There will be lunch and a chance for local elected officials and students to mingle from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 20th
All students are invited to join the Student LEADERS in Chat with the Chancellor at 4:30 p.m. in the Whitewater Lobby. This is an opportunity for students to speak with Chancellor David Fulton and other campus administrators about IU East issues that they feel are important. Sponsored by the Student LEADERS.
Friday, February 21st
The spring campus wide service project will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Genesis. The center provides temporary shelter, crisis and supportive counseling, and support groups for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. They also operate clothing and food bank services.

Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis
The College Mentors for Kids! Little Buddies (elementary students) will be creating their own newspaper with the help of their big Buddies and the IUPUI Sagamore. The little Buddies will interview college students involved with service programs, student government, athletics, and students spending time in common areas. They will use the information from the interviews to write articles which will be printed into a newspaper. The paper will be given to the big and little Buddies and distributed in campus. University of Indianapolis will host a Campus Wide Community Service Week entitled Bringing the U of I Community Together. Students, faculty and staff can participate in service projects with nine different community organizations in the surrounding Fountain Square Neighborhood. Service opportunities will be available morning, afternoon, and evening from February 16th through February 23rd. Pre-service orientation and post-service reflection will be offered. University of Saint Francis:
Book Drive: The University will collaborate with an area middle school to collect books. The books will be donated, along with shelves, to a battered womens shelter and a refugee center. Students and staff will help to organize these books to create a library at both the shelter and refugee center. February 18th &20th.
University students will share books and help with the homework of children at the refugee center. Needed supplies for the centers after school program will be supplied by the University. February 17th and 19th.
Curriculum/Methods of Mathematics class will put together Math Boxes for the refugee center, womens shelter, and a homeless shelter.
