Pancakes and Politics

Chew the fat (or bacon) with the “Big Dogs.” Free breakfast and political conversation for interested RSU students with a slate of public officials, including RSU President Joe Wiley, Mayor James Cochran, Claremore City Councilors, and RSU Student Government President Kyla Leverette and her executive cabinet.

You Don't Know Jack…About the Issues!

“The Know-It-Alls” versus “The Smart-Alecks” in a two-part series of debates between members of the RSU faculty and members of the RSU student body over “hot” educational issues. A celebrity moderator and sports referee will keep order and peace. Topics include: absence policies, faculty evaluations, academic extra credit, and required courses.

Mock Legislative Sessions
Feb. 15, 2005

Brief description of event: The RSU Chapter of the Oklahoam Intercollegiate Legislature (O.I.L.) and the Dead President's Society will organize and conduct a mock legislative session to provide RSU students with a basic understanding of the Oklahoma legislative process such as parliamentary procedure, authoring legislation, how committees review proposed legislation, debate and passage of bills, joint resolutions, and signing bills into law.
