National Teleconference
Take part in a National Teleconference on student civic engagement and The New Student Politics document. The Teleconference will consist of a panel of professionals, administrators, faculty, staff and students, sharing their thoughts on civic engagement and responding to your phone calls and emails. Five sites have been selected to host events for the teleconference in Ohio. If you or students from your campus would like to attend this event please feel free to contact the individuals at each campus.

Day at the Statehouse
How often do you get to meet with your elected officials?
Do you even know who your elected officials are?
What is lobbying and can anyone do it?
Will I really make a difference?
These are the types of questions the Ohio Campus Compact Raise Your Voice 2004 Day at the Statehouse will attempt to answer. Join your peers from across the state to learn about lobbying, meet with your own legislators, and develop concrete follow-up plans. Your voice is important be a part of the system. The issues that can be discusses are many an varied well focus on a few specific issues as a group and information will be sent to you ahead of time. Take advantage of this opportunity! The skills and information learned at this event will serve you throughout the rest of your life so make plans to join us!

Voter Registration Wednesdays
On five Wednesdays during the Month of Action the coalition is staffing voter registration tables in the Student Union. Students will be able to register on-line or on paper by just stopping at the booth.
Ohio Primary
The University of Akron is going to invite regional and national candidates who are registered in the Ohio Primary to visit UofA to present and address questions and concerns.
