American Red Cross Woodrow Wilson Award for Exemplary Youth Volunteer Service

Campus Compact Howard R. Swearer Student Humanitarian Award
"Each year, the Howard R. Swearer Student Humanitarian Award recognizes five undergraduate students (at Campus Compact member institutions) for their outstanding public service and provides financial support toward their continued efforts to address societal needs."

Congressional Award for Volunteer Public Service
"Congress established the Congressional Award in 1979 to recognize initiative, achievement and service in young people. It began as a bipartisan effort in both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives."

C.O.O.L. Idealist Awards
The C.O.O.L. Idealist Awards recognize the excellence of individuals and campuses across the country who, by their commitment to student involvement in communities, have successfully brought the power and impact of youth civic engagement to the foreground of student, campus, and community life.

Do Something Brick Awards
"A program of Do Something, the BRICK Awards were created to recognize and financially support outstanding young people, to create a network of young community leaders across the United States, and to inspire other young people to become active in their communities. The program honors and funds the efforts of dynamic leaders age 18 and under who have devised and implemented innovative solutions to problems in their local communities in the areas of community building, health, and the environment."

Daily Points of Light Award
"The Daily Points of Light Award is given each weekday in honor of recipients who exemplify the best of volunteerism, a sense of caring and responsibility for others that connects citizens and solves community problems."

Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity Prize in Ethics Essay Contest

Florida Campus Compact "Excellence In Service" Award
The Excellence In Service Award of $1000 is given annually to three student volunteers for outstanding service to Florida's communities.

Harris Wofford Awards
"a recognition program for the youth service movement to honor the life work of Harris Wofford in “Making service to others the common expectation and common experience of every young person in America." Harris Wofford is a driving force in the power of mobilizing people, particularly youth, to change the world for the better."

Indiana Campus Compact Wood Student Community Commitment Award
The Richard J. Wood Student Community Commitment Award recognizes students at Indiana Campus Compact member campuses who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service.  Each President or Chancellor may nominate one outstanding student each year based on their record of community service, development of leadership and advocacy skills, and determination to build long-term community relationships that positively impact community problems. 

J.W Saxe Memorial Prize
Annually, the J.W. Saxe Memorial Fund provides awards of $1,500 to one or more undergraduate or graduate students working in public service. The award is meant to enable the student to gain practical experience in public service by taking a no-pay or low-pay job during a summer or other term. Preference is given to applicants who have already found such a position, but who require additional funds.

Applicants should send a resume together with an essay describing short- and long-term goals, including an indication of the need for funds. Applicants need also to include, or arrange for the Fund to receive by the deadline, four letters of reference, at least one from a faculty member. Deadline to apply: March 15. Winners notified by May 1.

Maine Campus Compact Student Heart and Soul Awards
MCC's Student Heart and Soul Awards are presented annually to undergraduates who show evidence of a depth and breadth of service, service-learning, activism, and/or politic involvement. These students have shown leadership and innovative approaches to the work they do, and have achieved significant results through their involvement.

Michigan Campus Compact Outstanding Student Awards
In order to recognize students at MCC member institutions who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to service throughout their educational career, all are invited to nominate students for MCC’s Outstanding Student Service Awards.

NIKE Youth Action Award
"$500 grants to fund your plan for sustainable change based on your Youth Service Day project this year."

P3 Award: A National Student Design Competition For Sustainability
"Focusing On People, Prosperity, and the Planet. EPA and its affiliates offer the P3 Award competition to respond to the technical needs of the developed and developing world in moving towards the goal of sustainability. Past recipients include faculty and students working in partnership with their local communities, including many institutions and communities who receive Learn and Serve America funds."

Pennsylvania Campus Compact Student Community Service Awards
Each year at its Fall conference the Pennsylvania Campus Compact recognizes students for their outstanding work in the community. Students are nominated by their college or university based on the type and amount of service in which they have engaged. Each of these students must have contributed extraordinary talent and time to their respective campuses and communities.

The President's Student Service Awards (Corporation for National Service)
"The President's Student Service Awards is a White House initiative which recognizes young Americans with awards for outstanding community service, while encouraging more young people to serve."

The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award
$10,100 stipend for graduating seniors for public service anywhere in the world. Design your own proposal or work with an established public service oranization for a service commitment of one year.

State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Award
"Youth Service America and State Farm are proud to present the State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Award. The award is now available to teachers/professors, youth (ages 5-25), and school-based service-learning coordinators to implement service-learning projects for National Youth Service Day 2004, April 16-18. One hundred grants of $1,000 are available to youth, teachers/professors, and school-based service-learning coordinators. For printed copies of the application, send a written request and a self- addressed stamped envelope to: Good Neighbor Service-Learning Award, C/o Written Request, Youth Service America, 1101 15th Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, D.C. 20005. Submit a complete application postmarked by December 8, 2003."

Volvo Local Heroes Awards Program
"The Volvo for Life Awards is a national public service program designed by Volvo Cars of North America to honor "ordinary people who act with conscience, care, and character to help others in need." Volvo is conducting the program in an effort to inspire people nationwide to make outstanding contributions in their own communities. Nominations will be accepted in the areas of safety, environment, and quality of life."

The William Haber Award (Foundation for Jewish Campus Life)
"The award honors the late Dean William Haber of the University of Michigan, Chairman of the Hillel Commission from 1955 to 1963 and, for about half a century, an outstanding communal leader in many other areas of vital significance to world Jewry. A renowned academician and an economist of international stature, Dean Haber's achievements and commitments have embodied the highest ideals of Jewish communal service. This is an honorary, not a monetary, award."

Youth Service America Awards and Grants
Includes The AT&T Cares Youth Service Action Fund, The Born to Lead Grant, and The Clay Aiken ABLE to SERVE Awards and more. Grants of various sizes that can be used to implement service projects on National Youth Service Day.
