PRIOR TO REGISTRATION

1. Talk to your Media Services Technology contact and confirm these things:

a. You have the right technology: A satellite receiver and the ability to broadcast it to a large group on campus
b. You have a space or location that can receive the satellite transmission
c. You have access to the internet and are able to send email questions and comments to an off-campus account

2. If these are available, confirm the date and time with your Media Services contact and request that they or another technician be available at least one hour before the start of the Teleconference and for the duration of the Teleconference to handle any technological glitches. Be certain to get your contact's email address so that you can forward on any information we send to you, particularly the satellite coordinates.

3. Begin planning your event, particularly if there are any additions to the program that are unique to your event. For example, is your President or Chancellor speaking before the start of the Teleconference? Will you be facilitating a group discussion afterwards? Will you be playing music or other entertainment either before or after the Teleconference? If any special add-in is planned, be certain that you have the right technology reserved for it.

7. Check in with your Media Services contact. Are there any lingering questions that need to be resolved?

8. Confirm that all of your technology and equipment needs are requested.
